Intensivists are specially trained healthcare professionals who are experts at treating critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Intensivists have a unique knowledge of in-hospital medicine and are readily available round-the-clock. This specialized training and availability benefits patients with enhanced communications, and improved outcomes.
Kennedy’s Intensivists are board certified Internal Medicine physicians, with added training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine who care only for Kennedy – Washington Township ICU patients.
Along with managing the daily care of ICU patients, Kennedy Intensivists may be called to step in and offer assistance or clinical advice regarding patients in the ED or in other
Intensivists lead an integrated care team – including pharmacists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals – that provides patients with expansive health expertise. This multidisciplinary approach ensures each patient receives the personalized care they need, when they need it.
