Walk With a Doc
The Kennedy Health Alliance offers a free monthly "JustWalk™" Walk With a Doc walking program - this program, to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, is open to community members of all ages. Walkers will enjoy a refreshing and rejuvenating walk with Kennedy Health Alliance family physician Richard Weiss, D.O., and other KHA healthcare professionals, who will provide support and answer medical-related questions. What better way to start your weekend than on your feet making strides to help your heart and improving your general health to live longer!
Walking is low impact; easy to start activity. It is safe - with a doctor's okay - for people with orthopedic ailments, heart conditions, and those who are more than 20% overweight.
Location: Newton Lake Park in Haddon Township, NJ (Meet at the WWII Memorial; street parking available on Lakeshore Drive)
Time: Walk begins at 8:30am and runs until approximately 10:00am
Date: First Saturday of each month
Pre-registration is encouraged but not required for participation. Click on a date below to register for our upcoming walks in 2015!
Walk With a Doc is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle to improve the health and well-being of the country. This program was started in Columbus, OH in April of 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir and has now expanded throughout the country. You don't need any special gear and there are no special rules. Just put on a pair of comfortable shoes and walk alone, with friends, family or with a group!
